First order of business is to thank Sherman Hu for pointing me to Denis de Bernardy's Semiologic Pro Package for WordPress.  On top of the latest Wordpress install, Semiologic's package is an amazingly flexible and robust CMS, with an impressive array of business tools in a one-click download. Sherman's videos helped get right to the heart of what makes this a cool tool.
